 Tailwind Nutrition Caffeinated Endurance Fuel

Benefits of Tailwind Nutrition

  • Caffeine boost when you need that extra kick
  • Complete calories, electrolytes, and hydration: Ditch the gels, chews, and pills, and go all day with just Tailwind.
  • No gut bombs: Stomach problems? You’ll love Tailwind, unless you enjoy being doubled over, retching.
  • Tasty all day: Clean, light flavors taste better the longer you go.
  • Hydration pack love: Dissolves on contact and cleans up with a quick rinse. No film, aftertaste or science experiments!
  • All natural: Crystal clear with no dyes, preservatives or 4-syllable magical ingredients.

Usage is similar to regular Tailwind except that we recommend limiting continuous use to 6 hours or less to avoid building up a high concentration. Each scoop contains 100 calories and 35mg of caffeine. For endurance workouts, mix 2-3 scoops per 24 oz of water per hour. Adjust to your personal calorie needs during training, using hunger as a guide. When it’s dialed in, you’ll feel satisfied and energetic, not hungry or full. On hot days, keep the same calories per hour, but increase water. To use in combo with other foods, reduce Tailwind intake by the calories you’re consuming elsewhere to avoid overloading the gut. For shorter workouts (<2hr), you can use less Tailwind to taste.

I had tried every product known to man and they all lacked something, or were just plain awful tasting and feeling after a long day in the saddle. I’ve been using Tailwind going on 3 years now after having it recommended by a friend. That’s approaching 12,000 miles on dirt. Tailwind has been with me for the vast majority of those miles and it hasn’t let me down yet. Give it a try… Start with two scoops in your bottle and adjust from there. Feeling a little underpowered, go for 2.5-3 scoops. Feel that you can get by with a little less, dial it down to 1.5. It’s easy to experiment, and a lot lighter to carry than cookies, brownies, gels, sandwiches, fried chicken, or whatever! 🙂

Some people choose caffeinated, and some avoid it. I swap back and forth depending on mood and the length and intensity of the ride I’m doing. I like having the option.
It also helps that the caffeinated varieties are all mild tasting, and don’t overpower your taste buds. 🙂

I’ve used just about everything over the years for nutrition. Power Bars, PBJs, Clif Bars, Gu packs etc. They all seem to work however you generally have to stop to consume them. Several club members were talking about Tailwind and how well it works for them so I thought I’d give it a try. All I can say is it works. I’ve spent 6-7 hours in the saddle on Tailwind and never once did I feel like I wasn’t consuming enough calories. Best thing is I don’t have to stop to consume it. BTW the Mandarin Orange is the best flavor.
